💡Energy Before Strategy: Why Managing Your Spark Matters More Than Your Subject Line

Ever ghosted your list—not out of laziness but from total brain fog?

Same here.

Last fall, I launched a course. It did okay. But the week after? I stared at a blank screen for hours, trying to write a simple nurture email.

I had:

·       🧠 No ideas

·       😮‍💨 No spark

·       😩 No words that didn’t sound like dry toast

That’s when it hit me:
💥 Marketing isn’t about managing your tools. It’s about managing your energy.

Because when your spark is gone, your emails fall flat. Your ideas stall. Your sales feel like a slog.

Let’s fix that.

🔄 It’s not a strategy problem. It’s an energy problem.

If you’ve ever:

·       Said, “I should send a newsletter” and felt dread

·       Stared at ConvertKit like it’s a cursed mirror

·       Sent a half-hearted email at 11:52pm just to “stay consistent”…

You don’t need a new funnel.

You need a better way to protect your spark 🔥

Here’s how I do that — and how you can, too.

🌀 1. Know Your Energy Zones

Most productivity advice assumes we’re robots. We’re not.

Instead of forcing yourself into rigid time blocks, try mapping your day by energy:

·       🟢 Creative Zones: Peak output hours (for writing)

·       🟡 Admin Zones: Light work hours (for editing/scheduling)

·       🔴 No-Fly Zones: Low-energy times (protect them)

📍Example:

·       9–11AM → Write fresh emails (🟢)

·       1–3PM → Canva edits + client admin (🟡)

·       4–6PM → Off limits. Zero brain cells left. (🔴)

This one tweak can unlock so much flow.

📊 2. Use a Weekly “Energy Budget”

Ask yourself this at the start of each week:

❓How much creative energy do I have to give — and what matters most?

Instead of overcommitting, pick 3 core energy tasks for the week.

Ex:

·       Write & schedule next week’s nurture email

·       Build 2 automations for new subscribers

·       Record 1 launch video

Anything beyond that? Bonus, not baseline.

Protect your genius. Don’t stretch it thin.

📵 3. Write Before You Scroll

Your best email drafts?
They show up before you check what everyone else is doing.

Try this:

·       Close your tabs

·       Open a clean doc

·       Turn on lo-fi beats

·       Write the FIRST thing that comes to mind

Pro tip: call this your “Inbox Intimacy” ritual.

No swipe files. No AI. No pressure.
Just you, your brain, and your reader.

🧠 4. Track Your Creative RPM

Think of creativity like an engine.

Push it too hard too often… and it burns out.

Ask:
🔥 How many deep, focused sessions can I handle each month before my brain melts?

My rhythm:

·       2 deep writing sessions/week

·       1 admin batching block

·       1 “quiet” week/month

Your rhythm might look different. But it matters. Don’t push past your limit — pace yourself.

📦 5. Build a Buffer, Not Just a Batch

Batching is great — until you’re still cramming things in at midnight.

Instead, create a content buffer:

·       Prewrite 2–3 emails while your energy’s high

·       Keep them stored & scheduled

·       Edit later, but create from overflow

This makes email fun again — and removes that awful last-minute panic.

💡 Final Lesson: Energy drives conversion

When your energy is aligned:

·       Your ideas feel lighter

·       Your words land better

·       Your subscribers feel you — and trust you more

Because people don’t just buy strategy.
They buy resonance. And that starts with your spark.
