️ Map the Freedom Funnel (bird’s-eye view)
Bold opening
You don’t need louder launches.
You need a calm path that sells while you sip matcha. ☕
Today we map that path. Simple. Human. Evergreen.
I call it the Freedom Funnel.
Three soft stages: Connect → Educate → Invite.
By the end of this email, you’ll see the whole road ahead.
A quick story
A client once wrote six emails in a rush.
They were fine. But they felt random.
Readers got lost. Sales stalled.
We paused. We zoomed out.
We drew the map on one page with three boxes and a few arrows.
Then we wrote in that order. Soft yeses followed. 😊
The lesson stuck with me.
Write the map before the messages.
It saves time. It saves soul. It sells.
What the Freedom Funnel is (in plain words)
It’s a gentle welcome series.
It warms new people.
It teaches one useful thing.
It shows the next step.
No hype. No tricks.
Just care → clarity → choice.
The shape at a glance
· Length: 10–14 days.
· Emails: 6 core notes (+1 FAQ if needed).
· Tone: warm, useful, honest.
· Goal: steady yes, not a noisy launch.
Stage 1 — Connect 🤝
Purpose: trust.
We show who we are. We give a quick win. We invite a small reply.
· Email 1: Welcome + deliver the freebie. Keep it simple.
· Email 2: Origin story + ask one tiny question.
· Signals to track: opens, replies, clicks to the win.
Litmus test: If we met at a cafe, would I say this out loud? If no, rewrite.
Stage 2 — Educate 💡
Purpose: clarity.
We teach one idea. Not ten.
We melt one fear with a real story.
· Email 3: Your core model in three steps. A fix they can try.
· Email 4: Pick one objection (time, money, “not ready”). Share a proof story.
· Signals to track: clicks to the resource, replies like “this helped.”
Rule: One idea per email. One action per email.
Stage 3 — Invite 🚪
Purpose: choice.
We show the path. We make the next step easy.
No push. Just doors.
· Email 5: Soft offer. Name the problem in their words. Show your path.
· Email 6: Proof + preview. What’s inside in bullets. A real reason to act now.
· Optional 7: FAQ + gentle nudge. “If not now, save this.”
Signals to track: sales page clicks, trials or calls booked, buys.
The map on one page (make this now)
Create a simple doc with seven lines:
1. Reader: who are we serving?
2. Pain: one problem they feel this week.
3. Promise: one line of hope.
4. Path: Connect → Educate → Invite.
5. Offer: the one thing we will invite into.
6. Timeline: dates + delays between emails.
7. Metrics: the three numbers we’ll watch.
Print it. Tape it near your screen.
This is your flight plan. ✈️
Light tech plan (no overwhelm)
· ESP: ConvertKit, Beehiiv, Mailchimp… your pick.
· Tags: Beginner / Builder / Ready to Buy.
· Delays: 1 day between Connect emails, 2 days before Invite.
· Resend: non-openers get a fresh subject line.
· UTMs: add to every link so you see winners.
· Loop: after Email 6 (or 7), rejoin weekly newsletter.
Voice guide (so it sounds like you)
· Write like a note to a friend.
· Short lines. Small words.
· Show one true moment.
· Ask one tiny action.
· Stop at 85% perfect. Send.
If you ever fear sounding salesy, read the email out loud.
If your face stays relaxed, you’re fine. If you cringe, soften the pitch.
Numbers to aim for (start here)
· Connect opens: 40–60%
· Educate clicks: 2–10%
· Invite buys: 1–5%
These are starting points, not grades.
We improve next month, not today.
Your 30-minute build block (do this now)
Set a timer. Make the map.
· Write your one-line promise.
· Name your offer and the next step.
· Draft subjects for all six emails.
· Set delays and tags in your ESP.
· Add UTMs to your links.
· Send a full test to yourself.
Done is kind. Done sells.
Common snags + quick fixes
“It feels scattered.”
Add a one-line header to every email: “Stage: Connect / Educate / Invite.”
“It feels too long.”
Cut to one idea. Link the rest.
“It feels too pushy.”
Swap the hard deadline for a soft bonus. Keep dignity on both sides.
“I don’t know my story.”
Share the moment you almost quit. That’s enough.
The big lesson
A funnel is not a trap.
It’s a path.
When we connect, then educate, we earn the right to invite.
Grace first. Sale second. That’s freedom.
Repeatable proverb
“First the hand, then the heart, then the offer.” 🤝
